Apollon Inc. · Cambridge, MA · Full-Time · Senior / Lead
About Apollon
Apollon is a Boston-based MedTech startup developing MOGLU, a non-invasive continuous glucose monitor powered by Raman spectroscopy. We work in close collaboration with MIT and Analog Devices, have filed 50+ patents, and are advancing toward clinical studies at BMC and the Joslin Diabetes Center. Our mission is to eliminate the needle from diabetes management.
The Opportunity
MOGLU is built on a precision analog signal chain -- from laser drive to photodetector readout -- and hardware quality is what makes or breaks glucose measurement accuracy. We are looking for a senior hardware engineer who has built compact, low-noise medical or wearable devices and understands the full development cycle: from schematic to PCB layout to regulatory submission. You will work directly with our FPGA and ASIC teams, own the hardware design loop, and be a key contributor as we move from prototype toward clinical-grade product.
What You Will Do
- Design and develop analog/digital circuits for wearable and compact medical device applications
- Lead sensor signal processing and precision low-noise, low-current detection circuit design
- Own PCB design, layout, and prototyping (4+ layers, Altium Designer); drive design verification and validation
- Manage component selection, sourcing, and production ramp support
- Prepare and maintain regulatory documentation for FDA, CE, KC, and FCC certification processes
- Collaborate across FPGA, mechanical, and software disciplines; document progress and decisions in GitHub and Notion
- Contribute to patent filings and IP development
What We Are Looking For
- 5-10 years of hardware engineering experience, with at least 5 years in circuit design (required)
- Demonstrated experience developing wearable or implantable medical device hardware
- Hands-on expertise in high-gain amplifiers (TIA, LNA) and ultra-low-power analog circuit design
- Experience taking products through full development lifecycle -- from concept to mass production
- Working knowledge of medical device regulatory processes (FDA, CE, IEC 60601, ISO 13485)
- Proficiency in PCB design tools (Altium Designer preferred) and schematic capture
